This is far more efficient than the old "lottery ticket" method (you know, buy up 50 bands assuming one will cash out, discard the rest). It's a logical next step in this cutthroat business world. Would you expect anything less from an industry who's sole contribution to mankind is perverting, cheapening and exploiting art?

Only problem is that if they correctly predict the weather, the weather doesn't change. if they correctly predict greater amounts of crime in a certain area and beef up police, then the crime won't happen, messing up their statistics...
it's all quite facinating.

but yeah...it's pretty disgusting that a corporation would do this. it's all of that "science fiction becomes reality" bullshit. though even as i hate it, i'm quite fascinated with it at the same time. like, just imagine a program that assists on curing diseases, or predicting the spread of famine..i dunno. i could see some good come out of the idea. it's just the usage that is morally questionable.
